I have a passion for traveling, both within the United States and abroad. When I travel, I prioritize accommodations that are safe, clean, and provide value for the money. However, I've noticed a significant increase in lodging prices, with some well-known hotel chains failing to meet expectations. Brands like Hyatt Regency, Marriott, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, La Quinta, and Wyndham used to deliver top-notch experiences, but now it seems like the quality has declined. It's frustrating to pay premium prices and not receive the level of service and cleanliness that I expect. I believe that regardless of the price paid, hotels should prioritize customer satisfaction. It's disheartening to arrive at a hotel only to find that the reality doesn't match the appealing images on their website. Despite charging $175 to $300 per night, many hotels fall short in providing basic amenities and maintaining cleanliness. From dingy towels to the lack of essentials like shower caps, hair dryers, ironing boards, and irons, it's evident that some establishments prioritize profits over customer experience. I've encountered numerous unsanitary and uncomfortable conditions during my stay, prompting me to request refunds and leave hotels. 

The last hotel I visited was particularly disappointing, with sticky floors, a grimy bathroom, worn-out furniture, and inadequate lighting. It's disheartening to have to rely on my own cleaning supplies just to feel comfortable in a hotel room. While I understand that not all hotels are the same, it's evident that many establishments prioritize financial gain over customer satisfaction. 

I firmly believe that regardless of the price point, hotels should prioritize cleanliness, comfort, and safety for all guests. In instances where a hotel fails to meet expectations, I believe that guests should feel empowered to escalate their concerns to the hotel management. Whether it's requesting a room change or seeking a refund to find alternative accommodations, hotels need to be held accountable for delivering on their promises. 

In conclusion, hotels need to prioritize customer satisfaction and uphold high standards of cleanliness and service to ensure a positive guest experience.
